Usually I get a thicker, stronger elastic (not mesh) and sew just a loop but with my new pointe shoes I wanted to try criss cross elastics and use something lighter and less noticeable. These were perfect! I think I would stick with something stronger for a single loop because the heel on my shoes always slips off so much but these were perfect for criss cross or if you need lighter support.
